Read the story The Messy Magpie. Discuss the following questions: What are natural objects in the story? How do we know that they are natural? What are man-made objects in the story? What was wrong with objects that Morris found?
Look around your house and your garden. Can you identify natural objects and those made by humans? Take photographs.
Discuss where you found more natural materials and where you found lots of man-made objects.
Independent task:
Sorting natural and man-made materials worksheet. Choose a worksheet that is most appropriate for your child.
