The sensory garden was designed to maximise outdoor learning and extend pupils sensory experiences, it is located within the central quadangle of the school. The garden was designed with learning in mind and is used for quiet contemplation as well as more active pursuits. Pupils from key stages 2 and 3 have direct access to the sensory garden where they can play music on the outdoor instruments, read a book inside the covered, wooden rondavel, or spend some time in the mindfulness hut.
As spring gives way to summer the sensory garden comes alive with fragrant blossoms and vibrant colours that stimulate and inspire pupils to paint, compose music or poetry, and participate in outdoor performances. Whatever you do, though, be careful not to wake up the sleeping, grass-dragon!
